Requirements
  • Grade 10 with 5 years or more relevant security experience. 
  • Grade 12 or equivalent with 3 years relevant practical security experience plus security certificate Grade C and must be registered with Psira, have valid Psira certificate. 
  • Computer literacy and CCTV experience in control room will be an advantage. 
  • Knowledge of the Access to public premises and vehicles Act No. 53 of 1985, Psira Act 56 of 2001 and Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS). 
  • Must be prepared to work shifts and under pressure.

Duties
  • Safeguarding state assets, vehicles, employees, patients, contractors, visitors. 
  • Monitor and control the movement of patients and visitors. 
  • Render escort services to staff members, visitors and patients when the need arises. Report all incidents/breaches in the Occurrences Book. 
  • Do searching (i.e. people and vehicles. 
  • Enforcement of departmental policies, assisting nursing staff in handling aggressive patients if required, managing of hospital security aids and monitoring of CCTV surveillance cameras. 
  • Quickly respond to emergencies in the hospital
